Gothic Valentine: Card of the Day
Written by: The Pig

What’s black and what and red all over? A Gothic kid holding roses for his Valentine’s Day date.
Bad taste? Maybe. But the point is that love comes in all shapes and sizes: Goth, naughty, preps, jocks and freaks.
We like the freaks. They seem to get us pigs… Sometimes too well. :-/
This card was created by the darkest card creator out there, or at least on PigSpigot, Konstantin Vernikovskiy.

Card of the Day: For My Body

Is it love? Or just disgusting lust?
We hope it’s love. Otherwise it’s just gross.
We always knew Mister Lister had a mildly sickening sense of humor. But what can you do? He makes us laugh.
The Weekly Pig – Valentine’s Day Edition
Written by: The Pig
Greetings Piglets!
Our most favorite love-themed holiday is just around the corner, and the cockles of our hearts are getting warmer by the second. Looking for the perfect way to send Valentine’s Day greetings out to the one (or ones) you love? Say it with puppies. Or try some beatnik poetry. Or — sheeee-it! — let Sen. Clay Davis tell them how it is. However you decide to share your love, we’ve got you covered. Happy Valentine’s Day!
Dumped Cards!
Of course, we can’t forget about those less fortunate this holiday season. We’re talking about, of course, our friends and loved ones who have been dumped. Perhaps the most-appropriate card for such an occasion is a thoughtful, simple card that expresses regret about the split. Or perhaps a slightly more colorful design that mentions the possibility of other loves in the future. But it’s also possible you’re feeling less-than-charitable towards the ex. In that case, send your friend this card to tell her that she got out just in time!
President’s Day!
On February 15th, the nation honors it leaders past and present. Our current president is going through a little bit of a rough patch right now, so he could certainly use the support. The Democrats have lost a key seat in the senate, the press is giving him less latitude, and there’s no money left for social programs. What’s Obama to do? Depending on your politics, you might envision him removing his Clark Kent suit and flying to the rescue. If you’re a little less charitable, you might see him taking a new tack one on of his campaign slogans. And if you think he’s gotten a bit of a big head from his popularity, you could see him crowning himself or even reworking Mt. Rushmore to suit his vision!
That’s all for this week, folks. We hope you’ll continue to be the Kermit to our Miss Piggy.
Remember: we make it easier for you to send better cards.
Much porcine love,
The Pig
Presidents’ Day: Card of the Day

Ah, another holiday for a bunch of old, dead white men… Not anymore.
Maybe we should rename it Obama Day? And the disenfranchised everywhere will rejoice. Together we can. Or at least you can, if you believe… Or something inspirational.

Sheeeeeit: Card(s) of the Day

Fictional TV characters and viral phenomenons make for great cards. The famed senator from The Wire, Clay Davis inspired a whole series of cards:
Appreciation:
Love — since V-Day is just around the corner:
Well?

Artist Spotlight: Nicole Daddona
Written by: The Pig
Nicole Daddona likes 80s workout videos. She also likes to create awesome cards–which is why we get along so well.
She’s made some awesome card creations here at PigSpigot, which is why she’s our featured artist today!
Here’s what she had to say about her work:
What inspires your work?
Anything! I really love typefaces. I know that’s really dorky..but I just can’t help myself! Lately, I have been very inspired by album covers. So much more goes into them than I ever cared to notice until recently.
What’s your favorite kind of greeting card to receive?
Probably one with money in it.. just kidding..! I love any card that comes from the heart. As cliche as it sounds, I like when a card says something special that a person wouldn’t normally say out loud.
What’s your favorite kind of card to send?
Funny ones. I love any card that makes me chuckle. My favorite thing to do is to take a funny card and then write something really genuine and from the heart inside it.
What is the last card you received / sent?
My Birthday just passed, so the last card that I received was.. well… a Birthday card! The last card that I sent was a thank you card for a Birthday gift that I got!
Where do you do your best work?
In my room or a coffee shop with music on in the background. I also usually light a candle when I work. I guess I like my work to be romantic. Actually, I just like the way candles smell and make a room feel.
What’s your favorite medium and why?
Honestly? Plain white Xerox paper and a pencil with a big eraser… then I go over the pencil with a Le Pen ultra fine black pen before scanning my illustration into the computer where I do editing magic in Adobe Illustrator.
Where are you located?
The mean streets of Connecticut.
Where can people find your art for purchase?
Oh! What a nice question. I have an Etsy store, but nothing is really on it. I guess I should update that! The address is http://www.etsy.com/shop/BeyondTheseBorders. Thanks to anyone who checks it out!
Tell us what you think about the Pig!
Amazing. Fun. Clever. Off-beat. Wonderful.
What’s your favorite pork product?
Bacon, but I don’t eat it anymore. I love pigs too much to eat them… especially the Pig!
Holy Crap It’s February: Card of the Day
Written by: The Pig
That means Valentine’s Day is just days away, and Mr. Pig here hasn’t gotten Mrs. Piggie anything for the big day. Here’s an option:
So it’s a little gruesome? Who cares?
Judge not, lest you be judged. Isn’t that what the bible says…
It also says not to eat pig. You should remember that too.
This is a TonyInfamous creation.
Card of the Day: My Heart?
Written by: The Pig
Did you know they do heart valve replacements with pig and cow hearts? The pig learned about it on Grey’s Anatomy. Silly Christina Yang was running around prepping a woman for a valve replacement, only the woman couldn’t decide if she wanted pig or cow parts.
We say pick pig! We’ve got strong hearts. If you need someone else’s heart, pick pig.
Happy Valentine’s Day.
And thanks TonyInfamous for grossing us out. Hearts aren’t really pretty.
This Relationship is a Full Time Job: Card of the Day
Written by: The Pig
Mom always said a good relationship is hard work. But to what end?
How much time are you spending plotting, projecting moods, triangulating requests?
Drop that anxiety provoking jerk and come chill with the Pig on Valentine’s Day! We’re still desperate and dateless for the big day.
You can thank Konstantin Vernikovskiy, for the card, for the date.
