so there is a joke that goes
Q: “What do you call a guy who hangs out with musicians?”
A: “A Drummer!”
but of the drummers i know, there are a number of quite accomplished musicians, some downright genius-rich in musical talent, and this joke is a painful reminder of how crazy difficult it is for me to struggle to pluck out a tune on a guitar, or squeak a few notes out of a horn, or wrestle a squeeze-box with all of my strength and ability to whine out a scarcely recognizable cover of a cover of M.I.A.’s Paper Planes.
