The Pig escaped the matrix and forayed into the real world last Friday.
Celebrating PigSpigot’s launch on August 14, at the Coltoff Center of the Children’s Aid Society, two-hundred lucky New Yorkers were regaled by Derek James, rocked by DJ Angola and rewarded with raffle prizes. They tasted delectable Eskimix frozen yogurt and washed it down with sweet, rejuvenating nectar (Guru energy soda). These Gothamites feted the sow in style and even did something terrifically noble to boot, raising more money for the Children’s Aid Society than any group had previously.
Needless to say the Pig is proud of the launch party and wants to thank all those that helped make it such a success: family, friends, Derek James, DJ Angola, Eskimix, Guru, Mashable.com, Kikic Glam Bags, Blick’s Art Supplies and last but not least: the partygoers themselves. They created some amazing greeting cards, they danced to the classic grooves of Michael Jackson and they contributed to the general bonhomie that made August 14, 2009 a night to remember.
Perhaps the most amazing moment of the event:
The Pig (magnificently brought to life by Eric Lister, PigSpigot’s “Artist in Residence”) vs. The Eskimix Eskimo in a dance battle royale of likes unseen since Zoolander gave himself an atomic wedgie.
Check out photos of the party on flickr and be sure to watch the amazing PigSpigot video created for the event by Bruce Drummond.
